Hi Folks, is there any way to change the devices auto registration DNS record igelrmserver?
don’t want to use the DHCP scope option
What do you mean? You can change the IP that igelrmserver points to
We have a 2nd env and looking to setup another DNS record for auto registration
IGEL devices by default looks for igelrmserver DNS A record
oh…no you can’t do that unless you use a different DNS server
it always looks for igelrmserver, you cannot change it
where is that hardcoded in devices?
In the rmagent binary
ah ok
The only workaround would be to touch the device without network is connected, open the IGEL Setup, Network=> Host and create an alias there.
Only for testing, not handy, but works.
ok
so create a host file entry
Yes, over the IGEL Setup.
