Hi,
Can some explain me why the UD5 is not supported anymore since firmware 11.06.x? What is the reason behind this statement?
We are still using these oldies, because they are still good enough for just a simple VMware Horizon session. We have installed and test the latest firmware (11.08.x) without any issue.
Of course we have to renew our devices, but we are in doubt since our employees have a laptop too. Thanks to the COVID pandemic.
For UCC and offloading having 4GB Ram, 8GB disk and dual core 1.5GHz modern CPU is needed.
Customers are now converting their 3+ year old COVID hardware to IGEL to get another 3+ years out of them.
Thanks @member ! We don’t use offloading at this moment. I’m hoping our customers want to migrate from Windows laptops to IGEL-OS.
Those devices reached EOM, and are not guaranteed to work on later versions of the OS. If they meet the minimum specs for IGEL OS + the workflow you use them for they should work. IGEL just didn’t guarantee them in newer versions, nor are they tested / validated like they used to be.
Completely understandable @member .
