Hi Community,
I’m new here and I look for an answer for my Question..
We have a UMS on a Windows Server 2012 R2, but now we must go to a new Windows Server Version.
One possibility is to install the UMS on a new Windows Server 2016 or higher, but is it possible to make an Windows Inplace Upgrade to Server 2016?
Does UMS works properly after update?
What are your experiences?
Greetings
E.
Yes this will work to update your OS for Windows server.
Here are the steps that I would do.
• Take snapshot of existing system
• Make backup of the UMS database
• Update to latest version of UMS 6
• Make sure everything looks good

Great thanks for your answer.
Currently we have UMS Version 6.4. So it’s the best to update to 6.7 ?
Wow .. that is really old on UMS… To keep it safe / simple … look to get to the latest version of UMS (no more than 2 jumps at a time)…
I would contact IGEL support to get links the versions of UMS 6 to allow for the jumps…
