Will SANE support be added to OS12? We currently use if for Scanner Redirection on VMware Horizon and it works fine on OS11.
I see the following for OS 12

And the following command on 12.01.140 shows sane items
“`find /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu | sort | grep -i sane“`
And Ambir supported with this CP

Thanks Ron. I was aware of the Fabulatech package but was hoping to avoid the need for licenses since the scanners work in OS11 with basic SANE support. I’ll check out the CP and see if that does what we need.

• IGEL OS 12 does not currently have sane debug tools
◦ Sane tools from OS 11 to use with OS 12
◦ Please find attached the zip of tar files for sane
Steps to get sane tools onto OS 12:
• Use UMS files to transfer tar file to OS 12 (/wfs folder)
• Command to extract tar file (mkdir -p /wfs/sane && tar xvf /wfs/sane.tar.bz2 -C /wfs/sane)
• To run sane commands (sane-find-scanner)
◦ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/wfs/sane/usr/lib && /wfs/sane/usr/bin/sane-find-scanner
◦ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/wfs/sane/usr/lib && /wfs/sane/usr/bin/scanimage
◦ Other commands are in /wfs/sane/usr/bin
