Rebooted after the upgrade?

Yes, no change

I would remove the console and reinstall, leave the DB etc in tack

Or take a look in the log files in C:Program Files IGELRemoteManagerrmguiserverlogs

Which log in particular

Take a look in the IGEL-ums-admin

Hmm doesn’t look good

Got a snapshot of your server?

Yes

Well, a backup……

I would test a restore and have another look in that log file, see if those events are normal or not.

The log goes way back to 2015. Those key errors started after the upgrade today

Was a working environment with over 2000 machines, I just did a simple upgrade from 5.08.100 there were no errors until I tried to connect to the console

Only running one UMS server?

Yes just 1

What Windows OS?

Server 2012 R2

I’ve upgraded UMS around 10 times since 2015 never had an issue until now

in UMS 6 there are updates to Apache Tomcat and Java

what version of Java are you now on?

unknown, there’s no Java in add/remove programs just whatever UMS has intalled

Directory of C:Program Files (x86)IGELRemoteManager_jvmbin

01/26/2018 09:11 AM 191,008 java.exe

installed*

I might have to do some further digging, my ums log file is fairly clean.

I would have a look at rolling back if possible and do another upgrade.

You took a backup of the UMS DB also?

Yes during install

excellent

Lots of recent log errors in localhost log file starting with: de.igel.exceptions.ITLocalizedExceptionResourceKey: err_db_version

at de.igel.rm.rmserver.communication.server2tc.command.TCCommands.h(wo:342) [

What’s the roll back procedure?

actually, possible to test on another server, doing the UMS install and restore your backup?

Install 6.x and restore the 5.x backup?

install 5.x, restore backup, upgrade to 6.x

I’m wondering if ‘err_db_version’ in the log file means the DB didnt upgrade successfully.

possible, there were no obvious signs in the GUI during install however

I’m deploying a quick 2016 test VM, i’d rather fix the broken server if possible

see how that goes and report back

got the two keystone files in C:Program FilesIGELRemoteManagerrmguiserver ?

Hows the install log look in C:Program FilesIGELRemoteManager

lol i fixed it

So as I was waiting I did a “test” there it gave that error

I clicked the “Activate” button it updated the database schema which took a while

now I can login………

the install.log looks clean BTW

excellent, yeh seemed like it was a DB version issue.

Weird, I don’t see anything in the install.log about it updating the schema. Unless I had some crazy 1-off issue (I can’t imagine why?) there must be something missing from the updater

In any event thanks 🙂

no problem, happy its all sorted

Just sent you a DM
