Anyone have any experience setting up Azure File Sync on a Windows based Igel FW Server?
I would be careful with something like that. Files should sync automatically between UMS servers in a cluster.
I have done NFS mounts on Linux to do something like this, but Azure File Sync may change file hashes which can cause issues as the files are referenced via hash in the IGEL database.
That makes sense but we have IIS servers deployed in multiple regions with different fw versions and we need a way to sync the FW files across our servers so there is not a discrepancy in versioning. It is possible to use pattern exclusions in the sync group within AFS
I’m new to this so I definitely want to follow Igel FW best practice. I have not been able to find any updated FW deployment guides other then the one from 2021 in the wild
Put the firmware files on an extrernal (non-UMS server) that is accessible by all your IGEL devices. Then point your update repo to that location. It can be WebDAV or FTP
