Hi, I’ve got a question regarding IGEL LX with Citrix (7.15 CU4) in a double hop scenario, happy to receive any of your experiences or ideas:
• IGEL LX 10.04 – 10.06 appliance mode connecting to a Win10 (1709) or Server 2016 Desktop -> OK
• On the landing CTX Desktop (tested Receiver 4.9 LTSR till Workspace App 1909) , starting published Apps from other datacenters / customers via NetScaler Gateway -> Double Hop, now problems are starting:
• In the double hop Apps, mouse cursor is lagging / buggy (pixelated) or MOST Problem is the mouse cursor is white, so if you tab around some input field, you don’t know where you are because curser and input field is white, too
• Problem is not App-related, it’s in Word (Office,…) SAP Client,…
-> Cannot reproduce the problem if the client is a Windows FatClient, so it’s an IGEL LX / Workspace App for Linux Bug (think so)
Has anyone seen this before? Thanks!
Are those (v)GPU equipped servers publishing the apps @member? I saw some cursor related issues back in the days in those GPU scenarios.
Ok wow I think I found the solution, VMware Tools on the first Hop Desktop, upgraded to Version 10.3.10 (Checkout the fixed issues regarding Mouse docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Tools/10.3/rn/vmware-tools-10310-release-notes.html) -> Issue gone!

Only difference between double hop starting from a Windows Client or a Linux client is that in Linux the cursor is dashed, in Windows the cursor is branded with one line. Can anybody confirm this?
@member first hop and second hop servers without vgpu ressources
@member i had the same issue on my local win10 laptop and fixed it by selecting a dark theme on my mouse pointer. Should be possible on the second hop?
Will Test this, thanks for the hint @member
We are seeing the same white mouse cursor in a double hop scenerio to our Cerner hosted applications. The cursor turns white in all free text boxes, which is pretty much invisible. Its only happening when connections are made through Igels. Did the vmware tools update help you @member?
I compared with different setups / sites and the only thing was VMware tools, in one setup the tools update worked, in another not, so 50:50.
Citrix reached out to me and said in the CU5 VDA Pack of 7.15 there are cursor fixes. Will test this in my lab. Which VDA Version are you using @member ?
Im running the latest 7.15 cu5 vda so im not to confident it will help much. I tried the vmware tools update on the vm’s but no change there either. The only way ive found to have any sort of relief to the end users is to set the smallest of mouse tails on the cursor. that way it at least is visible when the mouse is moved.
anyone have an update on this as my hospital is running into the same issue? As a workaround I enabled the mouse cursor trails but then got complaints on this being turned on. Thanks for any input.
I think this issue continues in latest firmware releases, too.
I think this issue continues in latest firmware releases, too.
Any new informations on this issue? I’m on VDA 1912 and it still occurs… :white_frowning_face:
Need to reproduce it, again @member. On which IGEL OS with which CWA Version did you reproduce the cursor issue?
I tried several OS11 firmware versions. Latest was 11.03.580. I tried 11.04. but received an certificate error after upgrade. Have to check on this first.
I always use default CWA version.
We ran into the cursor issue last month with one application, too. We first thought it was a problem with the new igel firmware (11.03.586) but had users with the probleme that hat the update still pending. It may be due to some updates on the server side we still try to figure out with citrix support. It seems to bee a known issue for quite some time with citrix as the write here: support.citrix.com/article/CTX131504 This provided a workaround for us, changing the mouse scheme on the citrix server to “Windows Black (System scheme)” works for us.
Our Customer ran into the same problem, after a day testing in my lab, i can say the problem comes with workspace app for linux even in the newest version the bug still exists. Theres not really a fix for this, but i found a workaround for it.
I set a GPO to the Published App-Server (second hop) which sets the following registry key :
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key path: Control PanelCursors
Value name: IBeam
Value type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value data: %SYSTEMROOT%CursorsBeam_i.cur
i hope it helps you guys aswell.
