How can we add a New CUPS Driver to OS12?


• OS12 : How Adding a New CUPS Driver? .. I cant Follow the article for IGEL OS11, because i stuck on the step “-Manufacturer: Choose Custom, which will bring up the Driver definition field.”. The “Custom” Option is not there any more on OS12.

Can you run the following command on OS 12 device (open a terminal window)

“`igelpkgctl list installed“`


Maybe you can configure PPD file here:


It it a network attached printer?


Yes it is.


What are you using for your VDI? Citrix?


Plain Azure Virtual Desktop. This is the result of running igelpkgctl command:


Can you run the following command (put in the ip address of the printer)

“`driverless “`


missing a `p` … `ipp`

Once we can prove that we can talk to printer over IPP… then we can do the following to add printer to test..

Here is command line to add the printer for testing…

“`lpadmin -p wifiprinter1 -E -v -m everywhere && lpoptions -d wifiprinter1“`

Once setup you can open a browser (chromium) window and print page one of www.igel.com www.igel.com
