Hi Dear IGEL Community, I have a question. How can a backup one IGEL Thin Client without UMS. I mean Stand Alone Igel. Also, how can I restore a backup again? There is a procedure to do these. Thank in Advanced! Marcelo

Hi Sebastian, I have 3 Thin Client; I managed these IGEL Thin Client (ITC) without UMS. The ITC are Stand Alone managed; I mean when I maked a change, I need to do this change in every single ITC. I would like to back the complete configuration, just in case that one of them fail or crash or something like this. I would like to restore a backup in a new one ITC (Hardware). I hope that you Sebastian understands me, what I’m trying to say!
Hi Marco, that‘s indeed the typical usecase for a Universal Management Suite☺️ We don‘t have a properly spoken scenario for this.
What I can tell you, is that in /wfs you have a file called setup.ini
This fine holds all configurations made via IGEL setup. Maybe backuping that file would already cover your need.
I’m working for a project in my company. They don’t use UMS. I’ve recommended to setup a UMS. Then they will have definitely more options to manage the ITC.
