How to disable the pointing stick on IGEL OS

Good afternoon, has anyone ever had to disable the pointing stick (the little black nub device in the middle of the keyboard) on HP mt45 or anything HP thin clients that have this device? We have multiple users that when they are typing the point stick is moving and jumping around on the screen. There is no way to disable this in the BIOS, and I don’t see anything under the UMS Input Setting either keyboard or touchpad that allow you to disable this. It’s becoming more of an issues recently as the devices age. Any suggestions or similar situations / solutions would be helpful. We are currently running 11.08.200.01 because if we update to the current version then the ability to disable the trackpad goes away. But that’s a whole other issue.
