Anyone ever found a way of displaying a legal notice in the IGEL that the user accepts before they can launch their XenApp/RDS/Firefox session?
I’ve seen it done on the Wyse OS.
Currently we have it on the XenApp servers but it’s annoying for session reconnects so we’re exploring the possibility of doing it on the client rather than the server.
I’m playing around at the moment to see what I can do but if anyone has any pointers that would be great.
Hi @member, you have 2 options that i know of at least: Either you use the “disclaimer” function (system->Registry->userinterface->disclaimer) , or you script the session start together with zenity (‘zenity –help’ in a terminal will give you a bunch of options)
Thanks @member just what I was after.
Been there since ever :-)
Is there a character limit if you use the registry way?
Not sure about that, does it cut your disclaimer?
Only tested with a brief message at the moment, yet to put in our huge one to see how it looks.
Tested a much longer message and it fit, no formatting though, it was just a block of text.
wow it got so much easier π I remember a few years ago it was much more complex π
Feature request, add formatting capabilities, or at least multiple lines. π
@member if you add n in your text as a line feed for every new line you want, you can get what you need
Your new device entered the nIGEL nWarehouse nfor deployment configuration.
It gets even better! Thanks @member, exactly what Iβm after!
One more request around this one.
User 1 accepts the Legal Notice, logs into Citrix and out again, when User 2 comes along to log in they dont see the Legal Notice.
Seen anyway of getting it to display again prior to seeing the Citrix connections/Storefront?
Maybe some way of once Storefront has logged out or the Citrix connection has logged out the Legal Notice starts again.
I would also like to see the disclaimer show prior to all logins. Also it would be great if we could provide text for the title of the dialogue box and only have a accept button and no decline. No way to do anything if you donβt accept.
If you do a post session command that logoff(or reboot), the disclaimer should show up again on the device.
Looks like this was added to OS 10.05.100. Thanks IGEL.
