So I have been given a project. The requirement is to have an IGEL device hooked via USB to a Brother MFP printer. They want to see if the scanning can work. I looked into this years ago and it wasn’t an option. But I’m curious if anyone has gotten scanning via USB to work. Would IGEL or the Printer be able to see if we had the Brother Scanning software installed on the Citrix Image?
USB redirection should be a last resort for this. I would see if the printer has SANE support first and if IGEL OS has the driver for it, if that doesn’t work then USB redirection _may_ work.
If not, your best bet is going to be a 3rd party manager like Fabulatech.
