Hello everyone, I have a question for OS 11 settings. I have been searching for a way to change a devices name to its Serial number when its adopted to the UMS. Currently, it chooses its mac address. I can rename it manually but wanted to automate this before we adopted our full environment. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

or add a Template key wirth Serialnumber, in the field Terminal name:

There should hopefully be a better solution for this “soon” 😉
Try to run this command on a local terminal to confirm that shows the real serial number:
cat /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/product_serial
If, yes, I hope than anyone know how to use it for renaming devices.
Other option is import devices typing serial:

with short format:
kb.igel.com/endpointmgmt-6.10/en/import-with-short-format-57321107.html
but you need to know their MAC address, too. You can do it after registration and export MACs to a file to do it quicker.
