IGEL OS 11.05.120 freezing while connected to Parallels remote session

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with Parallels Session on a couple of Igel clients running version 11.05.120. The sessions keep freezing while connected to a remote PC; to fix it the session needs to be closed down (disconnected by closing the remote session window) and started back up.

The Igel client runs fine, so the issue seems to be with the session itself or some underlying problem elsewhere.

So far this has only been reported by a couple of users, getting data is difficult now with most people working remotely so there isn’t much more I can provide just now.

Anyone here who uses parallels and came across similar issues? Any pointers as to where I could look would be helpful as well (log files and their locations, etc.).

Thanks

not an Twox expert at all tbh. but is it happening on a specific action? I mean, does it happen when playing a Website?

I was just doing some testing and it seems to be related to Outlook on the remote computer. When I open outlook up it works fine until my reminders pop up and at this point it freezes and I have to disconnect and connect back to the remote PC. Outlook (and the session) seem to work fine after reconnecting but we had the issue happening to users frequently, every 10 minutes or so.

Not entirely sure what else there may be causing it

Update:

I did some more testing and it appears that this happens on Igel OS version 11.05.120 but does not happen on 11.05.100.

I will test it on 11.05.133 as well to see if it is maybe an issue in one of the firmware versions.

Is

journalctl -f

showing up something in CLI if the issue happens?

I have not had a chance to get to my beloved terminal yet haha. I will try pull more information as soon as I can, unfortunately I’m kind of torn between fixing a few issues at the moment. Will update as soon as I have something.

Seems to work ok on version 11.05.133 as well, I could not replicate the issue.

So far it appears to only happen on version 11.05.120 with a Parallels connection to a remote computer. I was able to trigger it when my Outlook popped a “Reminders” window to show my calendar events, etc. Not sure what caused it on other user’s computers, they had it happening frequently, around every 10 minutes or so.

Will try to gather some more info/logs when I have a chance.
