Hello,
is it generally supported to onboard new devices for OS12 by scanning the device with IP-address in UMS like for OS11, or is it only possible with OBS or one-time password. I guess I successfully onboarded one device by scanning but now it is not working any more. Therefore the question if it is an official way?
You can register devices with standard method (Radar) if you have network access.
Once registered, you need to configure profiles (Configuration) via UMS Web App (NOT console).
Scanning from UMS Console is supported with OS 12.
With IGEL OS 12 and COSMOS a better onboarding experience can be done.
• User opens box with new hardware (HP, Lenovo, LG) with IGEL OS preinstalled
• they type in their email address and in less than 3 minutes they are working

OK thank you, as we onboard all devices in IT dep. scanning from UMS Console is prefered from ourside.
I do not know why but I can not register devices with OS12 in UMS any more which already worked in the past. Devices with OS11 work fine.
is there a log, when registering went wrong? UMS12 certificate in COSMOS Portal is active
Capture the logs from the client and from UMS and open a ticket with IGEL support.
On the client (/tmp/tclogs.zip)
“`/config/bin/create_support_information“`
UMS
