Is there a setting to help prevent the VMware Horizon Client session from disconnecting causing the system to logoff with my policy?


Horizon Client session set to auto logoff system session when ended : I was able to setup a profile that auto logs off my system when Horizon client session ends. I am running in to an occasional issue when the horizon client session starts it disconnects then logs out the session. In windows there is a registry setting for the timeout. Is there a setting or another configuration I can make to help prevent the Horizon Client session from disconnecting causing the system to logoff with my policy?

Good morning @member, are you saying that the Horizon session occasionally fails to connect, or immediately disconnects after connecting to a Horizon desktop?


That is correct. From what I can see it is connected long enough to start the Horizon VM session because when you log back in the session is logged in.


Can you tell me what version of the firmware and what version of Horizon you are running?

Also, are you using BLAST, PCoIP, or RDP?


Firmware 11.0.1.130.01 the version of Horizon presented in that version of the firmware is 5.0.0 build 12557422 using PCoIP


Sorry, I meant the version of your Horizon environment, not the client on the IGEL device.


Sorry my mistake. We have two environments 7.0.3 and 7.4.0


OK, just wanted to make sure things line up. Those all should be supported and I don’t see any discrepancies. May need to open a case with VMWare and IGEL and pull the Horizon Client logs to see if either side can determine what is happening with that connection.


OK I was hoping there was a timeout configuration


It would have to be in the Horizon Client configuraiton, and I don’t think we have access to it

I can look, and I will let you know if I find anything, but I don’t think we do


Under system firmware customization custom commands post session is there a document with custom post session commands available? Currently that is where I have Horizon with the command logoff to logoff the session.

Still testing but under security active directory/Kerberos I checked DNS Lookup for Domain Controller and DNS lookup for domain. It has been working everytime I have logged in so far. Not sure if that is it. Will let you know
