Is there a webcam application anyone has had success with to control the zoom level of Logitech C930e webcams?

Is there a webcam application anyone has had success with to control the zoom level of Logitech C930e webcams? I’m trying to utilize webcamoid, but am hitting a snag with shared libraries (Libyan.so.6). Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Steven, isn‘t the Zoom a Digital zoom? I mean if yes, is the cam used locally only or in a UC Solution remotely?

You will need to create a CP (Custom Partition) for this. From IGEL Community GitHub site you can see examples of how to do this.

To find the missing libraries, run ldd on the executable and then add them to the CP.

ldd <executable-name> | grep ‘not found’

github.com/IGEL-Community/IGEL-Custom-Partitions

Here is an example of creating Signal CP:

raw.githubusercontent.com/IGEL-Community/IGEL-Custom-Partitions/master/CP_Source/Unified_Communications/Signal/build-signal-cp.sh

Notice for Signal that is need two missing libraries:

apt-get download libappindicator1

apt-get download libindicator7

Yes. It is a digital zoom. The webcam will be used within a Citrix virtual desktop with an application developed by NCR that uses a Vidyo integration for conferencing. The NCR application itself does not have the ability to control the zoom level. I’m trying to come up with a way to get settings in place locally before starting the Citrix session.

I guess I’m not understand where to place the missing library. I placed it where the executable is and linked, but that didn’t accomplish anything.

Going back to Signal CP — or any CPs for that matter — the key is linking everything into the IGEL OS read only file system.

Take a look at the CP init script.

PM me if you want to setup a quick call to discuss things.

Thank you @member. I’m trying to follow the guides and apply to Webcamoid but I’m still overlooking something. I may have to take you up on your offer.

Running through again to try to find what I missed…following kb.igel.com/igelos-10.06.100/en/setting-up-library-paths-via-script-23508478.html kb.igel.com/igelos-10.06.100/en/setting-up-library-paths-via-script-23508478.html but had to change root:system to root:root after error. Executing /usr/bin/webcamoid results in showing the missing libqb.so.6 library (once you follow the process you see there are two links to libqb.so.6.2.0). After transferring libqb.so.6.2.0 to /use/bin/ and creating links and executing webcamoid you still get the same error regarding the error while loading shared library. Still missing something…probably something simple I’m overlooking.

Just two small ideas:

please check the Library versions again 6 vs. 6.2.0. Was it a typo or may they differ?

you wrote /use/bin, might it be a typo or was /usr/bin meant?
