My LG Device doesn’t get a IGEL OS License.

Hi,

We have an issue where only LG Thin Client AiO devices are not able to obtain licenses, even though it shows WE and EMP licenses applied to the MAC address within the Licensing Portal, as well in UMS.

All other devices that are not this hardware obtain licenses successfully and operate without an issue.

We have tried the following:

• Deleting the device from UMS and Recycle Bin, and rejoining to UMS both through IP scan or manually through the OS

• Wiping the device and installing 11.08.360

• Running a script per IGEL’s KB to manually remove the licenses on the device

• Auto-assign licenses via UMS

• Manually assign licenses via UMS

Does anyone have any ideas why this specific group of hardware does not obtain licenses?

Thank you,

Craig

What do you see when you run the following command on IGEL OS system?

“`licensestatus“`

This is what I see on my device with 90-day license obtained during setup.

“`root@ITC08002792DECB:~# licensestatus

product: SUB_SERVICE_SET_WORKSPACE_EDITION

state: licensed

category: evaluation

enddate: 20230913

product: SUB_SERVICE_SET_ENTERPRISE_MANAGEMENT_PACK

state: licensed

category: evaluation

enddate: 20230913“`

I have had issues with LG devices as well and found that usually the issue is the date/time in the BIOS is wrong.

Oh yes… Please make sure NTP (time) is running on all systems.

@member thank you, the time way was off in the BIOS. As soon as this was changed, the device was able to be licensed!

Just a heads-up on LG devices. If you hold the power button down for 3 seconds, it will reset the BIOS time to something way in the past.
