While running the Windows Installer 12.01.110, I get a message about the MDM no longer being supported

While running the Windows Installer 12.01.110, I get a message about the MDM no longer being supported and I should stop with the installation if I need the feature. On continuing the installation I get an error message with an Out of Range and Runtime Error (at 237:683): Clicking ok proceeds with the upgrade. All 3 of my HA’s seems to have upgraded from the 6.05.110 ok and the DB is upgraded.

Hi Aaron,

I never saw this error tbh… Was the MDM

Feature still active before upgrading?

Is there an antivirus active on the server?

The MDM was turned on in the features. Sentinel One is the EDR/ AV on the boxes.

Aaron – We’ve had a few support cases on this issue. When you are able to proceed past the error, it appears as though the installation succeeds without issue. This can be seen by a review of the install log. Several customers have experienced this scenario.

It is possible to avoid this issue by doing a complete de-install of the UMS and a new install of the 12.01.110 UMS with the old database activated or restored by backup in the case of embedded. We also have several customers who have taken this route with success.

Good to know. I didn’t see it on the known issue KB for the install, so I wanted to make sure it was reported.

Marked as a potential KB article!
