Is there an alternative way how I can delete screen settings (i.e. rotation) made with IGEL OS Display Switch?

Is there an alternative way how I can delete screen settings (i.e. rotation) made with display switcher? By console or profile?

The reset functionality of display switcher itself seems not to work in some cases. Even if I confirm the changes (which look good at first) in display switcher with ‘Yes’ it goes back to the bad settings I’ve made.

If I apply a profile with manual display settings (removing the one with display switch configured) there is no change.

I’m sure it’s somehow related to my Test-IGEL on VMWare (I don’t have physical ones atm). But for now I would be glad to know how I can clean up my mess 😄

(latest UMS/ICG/OS11)

I had the same issues with display switcher and screen rotation. A customer wanted to rotate her screen, revert it back to normal and rotate it again. The second rotation always turned the screen to upside down. Only a reboot could help.

So I made a custom application with a hotkey to turn the screen with xrandr. 🙂

Creative approach😄 I tried with xrandor over the terminal (Ctrl+F11). It did not work of course. Is your application something confidential or would you share how you’ve done it excactly?

But still. It’s a workaround. My settings are preserved after a reboot even if the setting (preserving settings after reboot) is off. You don’t happen to know where this rotation-information/setting is saved so I can reset/clear it?

Maybe you are looking for _/wfs/user/graphic/xfce-displays.xml_?

Looks like a bug in display switcher, after the second rotation in the XML-file Rotation is set to 180. 😉

I created a Custom Application in Firmware Customization with the Command ‘_[ “$(xrandr -q|grep -v dis|grep con|awk ‘{print $5}’)” != ‘right’ ] && xrandr -o right || xrandr -o normal_’ and set a hotkey for it.

I found two .xml files

/userhome/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml

/wfs/user/graphic/xfce-display.xml

No use to delete or modify these.

The custom application is quite cool, thanks! I have to remember that as workaround if it ever happens on customer endpoints.

As I don’t want to spend more time in debugging I’ve installed OS11 from scratch:-)
