Numlock turn itself off overnight on IGEL OS?

Hi all – anyone seen numlock turn itself off overnight? I use various LX models (mix of v5 and v10) with Windows 7 VDI, but I’ve even seen it with the IGEL not logged into the Windows VDI, just sitting on the RDWeb logon screen.

Hi! No, which kind of keyboards are you using?

All sorts – from Kensington to HP to Maplin! Brand new to 5 years old

Did you enabled the Numlock in User Interface => Input => Keyboard => Start with Numlock On?

Yes that’s enabled. The IGEL doesn’t restart, just sits there asleep or locked.

Ok, sounds weird. Can you send us the concerned Igel device types and firmware versions? Would like to reproduce it if possible

Two that did it last night: one is a UD3-LX 51ac running 10.04.100.01, and one is an UD3-LX 50ac running 5.12.100.01, but these were still connected to an RDP session overnight. I also noticed an ancient UD3-LX 30cp running 5.08.200.01 which was sitting at a logon prompt (so not connected to any sessions) overnight which had also turned num lock off.

By the way I have logged this through my account manager too and have now got an engineer (Gordon Cass) who I will be speaking to later about this.

Great, Gordon is the perfect man👏

FYI – info I’ve been sending to Gordon/Ian :

UD3-LX 50ac running 10.04.100.01 (profile set to same based on version) – sitting at domain logon screen (still in IGEL OS, not RDP yet) and overnight Num Lock definitely turns off. Standard cheap Kensington USB keyboard.

UD3-LC 30cp running 5.08.200.01 (profile set to 5.10.240.01) – sitting at RD Web logon screen (still in IGEL OS, not RDP yet) and overnight Num Lock definitely turns off. Standard HP USB keyboard.

For these two devices, I power cycled them yesterday so the num lock came on, but again this morning I have found they’re both off. They were not used or even touched between power cycling yesterday and this morning.

Hi Steve, Just to let you know, I have done extensive testing here across many devices over many nights in the last couple of weeks and at the moment, I cannot replicate. I had third line take a look also, and they also could not replicate the issue.

There is something we want you to try from the HQ team, I will update the call with the details now.

Was this ever resolved?

Sorry to revive this but I’m also seeing this issue as is apparently @member .

I have that setting enabled but when the devices go to sleep, the numlock turns off and doesn’t re-enable when users wake them up.

Since we can‘t reproduce the issue (I tried it also), it‘s hard to get it sorted out. Would you mind to open a ticket?

I can take a look at doing that yes. Essentially if the device is asleep for ~6 hours the numlock turns off and doesn’t turn on when it wakes up. I’ve put in a workaround….by just scheduling a job to reboot the devices again about 90 minutes before staff arrives at work.
